Title: Maintenance and Enhancement of the National Nutrient Management Data Download Website (Missouri Clipper)
Project Description: To facilitate continued work on a nationally available software
that delivers data from multiple data web services for use in development of Comprehensive
Nutrient Management (CNMP) and other Plans common to animal feeding operations (AFO).
This software would be readily available to state-based technical service providers
(TSPs) and allow them to “clip” required data from multiple sources for farm sized
areas thus avoiding the need to download huge amounts of unneeded data from county/regional
GIS, climate, RUSLE2, or resource inventory sources.
The website provides an interface for defining a management area, then collects
and packages data from multiple web services, including the NRCS Soils Data Mart,
the USDA TerraServer, and the RUSLE2 official data base support files. The packaged
information can then be saved to a local computer for use.
Project Goals:
- To maintain the Missouri Clipper to support the most current software releases
- To improve the application performance
-
To integrate additional data elements
